NEW YORK (AP) _ Randolph Joseph ran for 258 yards and four touchdowns to lead Colgate to a 49-24 victory over Fordham Saturday.

Joseph had 15 carries and became the first Colgate (2-1, 1-1 Patriot League) player to surpass the 200-yard rushing mark since Ken Gamble had 206 against Boston University in 1987.

Dave Beitler added two touchdown runs for the Red Raiders.

Fordham (0-2) took a 14-0 lead when quarterback Mark Carney scored on a 1-yard touchdown run and threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jim Walls.

But Colgate battled back, and after a field goal tied it at 17 in the third quarter, Joseph ran 67 yards for a score that began 28 unanswered points for Colgate.
