Pacers playbook: Miller & Rose
Coach's Edge

Reggie Miller and Jalen Rose have done it all for the Pacers so far in this series, and throughout the playoffs. Each is averaging better than 20 points per game against the Knicks. Miller is creating problems for the hobbling Allan Houston, and Rose has a height advantage over Latrell Sprewell, so he's able to get his shot off easily. The Pacers need these two to continue to produce, but they need help from others as well. Here's how the Pacers get their stars an open look

ANIMATE THIS PLAY DIAGRAM WITH SHOCKWAVE
(A) Mark Jackson (13) brings the ball up Reggie Miller's (31) side. Jalen Rose (5) cuts off the staggered double to receive the pass at the top of the key.
(B) Rose (5) looks to score, and as he does so, Miller (31) cuts baseline off another double screen from Rik Smits (45) and Dale Davis (32). Miller gets the ball in the short corner and pops the jumper. When Rose and Miller are working together, the Pacers are tough to stop.
