SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Jason Williams and the Sacramento Kings did away with their erratic play.

Williams had 22 points and seven assists as the Kings beat Atlanta 94-80 Tuesday night, snapping a 10-game losing streak against the Hawks.

Williams had been struggling with his shot and the Kings weren't much better, losing five of their last seven games. Williams broke out of his slump, hitting four 3-pointers and converting nine of 16 shots against the Hawks.

"I thought Jason was good at both ends of the court," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "He was active on defense and under control on offense. He had a solid all-around game."

The Kings, who played their fourth straight game without Chris Webber, who is sidelined by a sprained ankle, last beat Atlanta on Nov. 12, 1994.

Williams was also active on defense. Doug Christie had five steals and Williams added three as the pair pestered Atlanta guards Jason Terry and Brevin Knight. The Hawks committed 17 turnovers, 13 in the first half.

Terry, who scored 38 points in the previous game against the Kings, shot just 5-for-15 and finished with 16 points.

"We knew Jason Terry was a great scorer and when he had the ball it was Jason against all of us," Williams said. "We came out and played a great team game."

The Kings, who were outscored 8-2 early, closed out the first quarter with a 26-4 run and held a 28-12 lead at the end of the period.

"They had a spurt in the first quarter that obviously we didn't recover from," Atlanta coach Lon Kruger said. "They have a good ballclub that can score points quickly. We knew that going in and we lost our composure a little bit. They scored more quickly than we could afford."

Peja Stojakovic scored 19 points for Sacramento. Vlade Divac had 13 points and 19 rebounds and Scot Pollard added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Lawrence Funderburke added 10 points.

Williams hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points in the third quarter as the Kings built a 72-55 lead.

Another 3-pointer by Williams midway through the fourth quarter gave the Kings an 86-69 advantage.

"We got a little stagnant in the second quarter, Jason hit some big shots to keep them away," Adelman said.

Lorenzen Wright had 15 points and 13 rebounds and Dikembe Mutombo added 11 points, 15 rebounds and nine blocks. Chris Crawford added 14 points.

"They are very talented, they play good basketball, they pass, they cut," Kruger said. "They're a fun group to watch, but not play against."

Pollard had 10 points and nine rebounds, and Stojakovic scored 10 points as the Kings built a 47-30 halftime lead.

Game notes
Following a first-quarter block, Mutombo wagged a finger in the direction of the Kings bench and was called for a technical. ... Christie has made 51 of his last 52 free throws. ... Williams ended both the first and third quarters with 3-point baskets. ... The Hawks made just 12-of-36 first-half shots.
