LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jason Kidd did it all to lead the Phoenix Suns to their sixth straight win.

Kidd had 20 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in a 94-80 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night.

"I tip my hat to Jason Kidd. He controlled the tempo of the game," said Clippers rookie Lamar Odom.

The Suns broke away from a 54-54 tie with 4:16 left in the third period, outscoring Los Angeles 12-2 over the next three minutes. Phoenix then scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter and was in command the rest of the way.

"The score was tied one minute, and the next time I looked up, it was 66-56. The game was basically over right there," said Odom, who scored 14 points. "They're too good of a team to come back against."

Reserve Cliff Robinson scored 19 points, and Tom Gugliotta had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns, who have beaten the Clippers eight times in a row and haven't lost to them in Los Angeles in almost three years.

Kidd said the Suns' third-quarter spurt was the key.

"We felt if we could take hold of the game then, it was going to be up to us to finish it. And that's what happened," Kidd said.

Derek Anderson led the Clippers with 25 points, including 13-of-15 from the free-throw line. Maurice Taylor, back after missing seven games with a strained ligament in his left foot, added 15 points as Los Angeles lost its third in a row.

The Suns were up 36-29 with 3:57 left in the second quarter before Anderson scored 11 quick points to pull Los Angeles even at 42 by halftime.

The Suns were up 25-21 at the end of the first quarter.

Game notes
The Clippers have four players on the All-Star ballot -- Taylor, Anderson, Odom and Michael Olowokandi. ... The last time the Clippers beat the Suns in Los Angeles was Dec. 16, 1996. ... Taylor, not looking rusty from the layoff, scored the first basket of the game on a driving layup. ... The Suns' Rodney Rogers had nine points against his former teammates. ... Capacity for Clippers' games at the new Staples Center, originally listed as 18,694, now is 18,964 -- not that it makes much difference. The announced crowd for the Suns' game was 10,233.
