LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Desi Relaford hit a two-run homer and scored the go-ahead run on John Mabry's double as the San Diego Padres waited out two rain delays totaling more than 2½ hours before beating Los Angeles 3-2 Friday night. The Dodgers had their six-game winning streak stopped. They dropped six games behind New York in the NL wild card race. There was a 1-hour, 53-minute delay in the fourth inning and a 39-minute wait in the seventh. Los Angeles has had only two rainouts in its last 1,009 home dates at Dodger Stadium since April 1988. Relaford drew a leadoff walk in the seventh from Antonio Osuna (3-6), stole second and continued to third on catcher Todd Hundley's throwing error. Two outs later, Mabry lined a 3-2 pitch down the right field line for his 23rd RBI in 23 starts in the outfield since joining the Padres on July 31 in a trade from Seattle. After the second rain delay, Tom Davey, Kevin Walker and Trevor Hoffman finished up for the Padres. Hoffman got three outs for his 42nd save in 49 chances. Carlos Almanzar picked up for Padres starter Jay Witasick in the fourth after the long rain delay, allowing two hits over two scoreless innings. The Dodgers tied it at 2 in the sixth against Dave Maurer, who walked Adrian Beltre and gave up Alex Cora's RBI double with two outs. Maurer (1-0) pitched one inning for his first major league victory. Coming off consecutive 1-0 victories for the first time since July 1984, the Dodgers fell behind 2-0 in the first when Relaford followed a leadoff walk to Damian Jackson with his fifth homer. It ended a streak of 23 2/3 scoreless innings by Dodger starting pitchers. Chris Donnels homered in the Dodgers second. The rain had just begun hitting the crowd of 37,512 in the fourth when Kory DeHaan lined a one-out single off Dodgers starter Eric Gagne's right wrist. Gagne threw a couple of pitches to see if he could continue, then went 3-2 on pitcher Jay Witasick before he was removed. Game notesGagne has a contusion on his wrist, which will be X-rayed Saturday morning. ... The Dodgers' only home rainouts since 1988 came against Houston last April 17 and against San Diego on April 21, 1999. The last time the Dodgers had a home game delayed by rain after it began was on May 12, 1998, against Philadelphia. ... The Padres are one of three teams that have not had a road or home game postponed this season, along with the Toronto Blue Jays and Anaheim Angels. ...
