SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Bobby Estalella hit the first grand slam at San Francisco's new bayside ballpark and the Giants defeated the New York Mets 7-1 on Tuesday night.

Livan Hernandez (1-4) pitched an eight-hitter to win his first game of the season. The right-hander, who lost all five decisions to the Mets last season, has both of San Francisco's complete games this season.

After losing their first six games at Pac Bell Park, the Giants have won three of their last four.

Glendon Rusch (1-2) allowed seven runs and 11 hits in six innings. He struck out two and didn't walk a batter as the Mets lost their fifth in the last seven.

Estalella's second career grand slam highlighted a six-run rally in the fourth inning. Russ Davis and Rich Aurilia also drove in runs in the inning as the Giants batted around.

Barry Bonds, who hit the first home run into McCovey Cove on Monday night, failed to homer for the first time in four games, but did hit a triple and double and scored two runs.

The Mets scored in the first when Robin Ventura had a two-out RBI double. Hernandez did not allow a baserunner past second base the rest of the night.

Jeff Kent doubled to score Bonds in the bottom of the first.

Hernandez struck out five and walked three.
