DENVER (AP) _ Armando Rios hit two home runs and Marvin Benard had a career-high five hits Saturday as the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 16-7.

J.T Snow and Ellis Burks also homered for San Francisco. In Jim Leyland's next-to-last game as Colorado's manager, the Rockies never led.

Angel Echevarria had a career-high four hits and Edgard Clemente tripled, doubled and drove in three runs for the Rockies. The Giants are 9-3 against Colorado this year.

Snow connected for the second straight day, hitting his 24th home run in the first inning for a 2-0 lead. He added an RBI single in the fourth as the Giants made it 4-1.

Kirk Rueter (15-10), who had been 0-2 with a 9.19 ERA in his previous three starts, allowed four runs and eight hits in 5 1-3 innings.

Jamey Wright (4-3), who had been 4-0 with in his previous eight starts, gave up six runs and seven hits in five innings.

Teams have scored in double digits 45 times in the 80 games played this year at Coors Field.

The Giants chased Wright in the sixth when Jeff Kent walked and Burks followed with his 31st home run of the year. Rios greeted reliever Bobby Jones with a home run for a 7-1 lead.

Clemente hit a two-run triple in the sixth and Henry Blanco had an RBI groundout as Colorado closed to 7-4.

Pinch-hitter Rich Aurilia had a two-run single and Ramon Martinez and F.P. Santangelo also drove in Giants runs in the seventh.

The Giants broke open the game with five runs in the ninth, keyed by Rios' homer and Bill Mueller's two-run double.

Notes: Clemente ended an 0-for-18 slump with a second-inning double. ... The Giants are 27-22 without Barry Bonds in the lineup. ... San Francisco's 188 home runs are the team's most since it hit a franchise-high 205 in 1987. ... Aurilia's two RBIs give him 80.
