SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

March 21, 2005 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down ...

NC State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee — NC State as a 10th seed and Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a 12th seed are in the Sweet 16. Nice job by Herb Sendek and Bruce Pearl.

Pat Summitt — The Tennessee women's basketball coach tied Dean Smith for the most wins (879) by a Division I coach.

Ronald Ross, Texas Tech and Francisco Garcia, Louisville — A number of players have shined early in the tourney. Texas Tech guard Ronald Ross is averaging 26 ppg. Francisco Garcia has looked great for Louisville, scoring 20 or more in each game.

LeBron James — LeBron scored 56 points for the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to score 50. Problem is, his team lost.

Liz Johnson — Liz made the finals of the men's PBA event but lost in the championship match.

Kim Clijsters — Clijsters continued her comeback by beating Lindsay Davenport in the finals of the Pacific Life tennis tournament in California.

Connecticut, Wake Forest, Kansas — UConn and Wake were No. 2 seeds but didn't make it to the Sweet 16. Kansas lost in the first round to Bucknell. So the top two teams in the preseason coaches poll, Kansas and Wake Forest, are out.

Los Angeles Lakers — The Lakers would miss the playoffs if the season ended right now.

Maria Sharapova — Sharapova got double-bageled, 6-0, 6-0, by Lindsay Davenport in the semifinals of the Pacific Life.
