Washingon earns No. 1 seed

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

March 13, 2005 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down ...

Washington and Duke -- Both won their tough conference tournaments and secured No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament.

Green Bay Packers -- They have Brett Favre back for another season.

Houston Rockets -- The Rockets have won four straight games against top-flight Western Conference opponents. Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady are getting it done for Jeff Van Gundy.

Jeff Garcia -- The former 49ers quarterback gets a second chance, and this time it's for former coach Steve Mariucci in Detroit.

Louisville -- At 29-4, I thought the Cardinals should have been seeded higher than No. 4. I also felt Notre Dame and Miami-Ohio should have been in the field of 65.

Utah Jazz -- The Jazz have lost five straight games and were held to 62 points by Detroit on Sunday.

Baseball and steroids -- I am sick of hearing about it.
