Stock up: Lance Armstrong
Here's a salute to Lance Armstrong, who pulled off a tremendous feat by winning his third straight Tour de France. Armstrong has battled back from the big C, cancer, and he has made his name by cycling to the winner's circle again in impressive fashion. He is flat-out awesome with a capital A!

The Yankees have been on fire, winning eight in a row. Roger Clemens and Mike Mussina have been stoppers and Paul O'Neill, Shane Spencer, Derek Jeter and Alfonso Soriano have been swinging hot bats. The Bronx Bombers have outscored the opposition 68-25 during the win streak. Joe Torre's team is coming on strong at the right time.

The Red Sox got a big-time boost with the return of Nomar Garciaparra. His comeback was like a Hollywood script as he hit a homer in his first game back on Sunday. The Sox will get Pedro Martinez back too, but let me tell you, they have no shot, as I feel the Yankees will still win the AL East, baby!

The Spurs deserve a stock up for adding Steve Smith. His presence will give the team a proven scorer while making up for the loss of Derek Anderson.

Stock down: Turk Wendell
It was was struggle city for Turk Wendell of the Phillies in his first appearance against his former team. He gave up a home run to Robin Ventura on Saturday in a loss to the Mets.

Albie Lopez of the Diamondbacks was shelled in his first game after being traded by Tampa Bay. I'm not convinced his acquisition will be a positive move for Arizona.

Yevgeny Kafelnikov hardly showed up in a match last week at the Generali Open. Come on, when you are one of the top players in the world, you have to do better than a 6-1, 6-1 loss to a player named Hugo Armando from Bradenton, Fla., who was 186th in the ATP points race.
