FOUNTAIN, Colo. -- Brothers Jeff and David Green swept the top two places in the NAPA Autocare 250 on Saturday, with Jeff racing to his fifth Busch Series victory of the year.

Jeff Green, the series points leader, beat his older brother by 0.746 seconds after battling fender to fender for the final 85 laps on Pikes Peak International Raceway's mile oval.

"My dream came true today," said Jeff, three years younger than David. "I was racing my brother down to the end for the checkered flag and that's what it's all about. I saw Ward and Jeff (Burton) do it a couple of years ago at Las Vegas. To be able to do that with your brother, that's pretty awesome.

"I feel he knows how hard I've worked. We've been racing since 8, 10 years old. So we both know how hard we've worked to get where we're at."

It was the 15th top-five finish in 20 races this season for Jeff Green, who extended his commanding lead in the standings to 552 points over Jason Keller. It is the largest margin in Busch series history.

Jeff Green averaged 118.421 mph. Andy Santerre, the 1999 winner at PPIR, finished third.

"We didn't quite have enough for the Green brothers, but I was giving it all I had," Santerre said.

The second-place finish was David Green's best this year and the first ever 1-2 finish between the brothers. The last time David won was at Myrtle Beach in 1996.

"To run with Jeff there at the end -- he's the car to beat whether he's my brother or not," he said. "To come down today and race like we did, to me it's very satisfying.

"For my team to be able to do this, I'm pretty proud of them."

Hank Parker Jr. was fourth, followed by Phil Parsons, Casey Atwood, Hermie Sadler, Mike McLaughlin, Ron Hornaday and Tim Fedewa. Chevrolet drivers took 22 of the top 23 spots, with pole-sitter Jeff Purvis finishing 13th in a Pontiac.

Starting on the outside of the front row, Jeff Green put his Monte Carlo into the lead on the first lap and led for 169 of 250 laps. David Green, who qualified eighth, led only seven laps.
