    2000
  • Moved to Team SABCO to drive for Felix Sabates. Finished fourth at Talladega in Diehard 500. Was running 28th in points after 17 races.
    1999
  • Enjoyed his best season with two top-five finishes and six top-10s. Finished a career-best third in the Daytona 500. Also won two poles (Texas and Darlington). Finished 19th in points.
    1998
  • Was picked to drive the Robert Yates' No. 28 Ford as a rookie and proceeded to win Rookie of the Year award. Captured first career pole (Atlanta) in 36th start. Became the first rookie to top $1 million mark. Finished 28th in points.
    1997
  • Grabbed the attention of Winston Cup in fall night race at Richmond by qualifying his Ford on the outside pole in his first series race. Led the race for 12 laps before finishing eighth to become the only driver in NASCAR's modern history to start on the front row and finish in the top-10 in his first race. Was named rookie of the year after finishing 10th in Craftsman Truck Series points with two wins.
    1992-96
  • Open-wheel career was highlighted with his '96 USAC Skoal National Midget Series championship. In five full seasons in the series, he earned eight wins, finished second 20 times and posted 59 top-five finishes with 87 top-10 runs.
