PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Mercury on Monday acquired guard Edwina Brown and forward Lenae Williams from the Detroit Shock in exchange for two newly-drafted players.

The Mercury sent to the Shock Petra Ujhelyi and Telisha Quarles, the team's second and third round draft picks in the 2003 WNBA drafts.

Mercury Coach John Shumate said he was thrilled to add Brown and Williams to the team.

"Edwina brings three years of experience and athleticism to this team while Lenae will add another scoring weapon to the mix,'' he said.
