SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Starzz are finally playing like a playoff team.

Margo Dydek scored 16 points as the Utah Starzz extended their winning streak to a franchise-record seven games, beating the Indiana Fever 65-54 Saturday night.

"It just started with winning a couple of close games and getting some confidence," Utah coach Candi Harvey said. "Now, they just believe in themselves."

Natalie Williams had 10 rebounds and Adrienne Goodson added 13 points for the Starzz, the only original WNBA team to never have made the playoffs.

"We just want to make the playoffs and really prove how good this team is," Williams said. "If we play our best, we can beat any team."

Utah (16-11) moves into a tie with Sacramento for third place in the Western Conference. Utah is one game behind second-place Houston (17-10), which lost 54-49 to Charlotte on Saturday.

Dydek and Williams led a 13-3 run that gave the Starzz a 57-40 lead with 7:43 remaining. Dydek also keyed a 12-2 first-half run that helped Utah to a 34-22 halftime lead.

"Margo is tough to guard. She is 7-foot-2 and a nice player," Indiana coach Nell Fortner said. "We just tried to do the best we could on her and not let her get any second shots."

Jennifer Azzi matched her career high with 10 assists for the Starzz.

"I am taking whatever the other team gives me offensively," said Azzi. "It depends on what is going on in the game and for me to be able to recognize that and get everyone involved."

Rita Williams and Alicia Thompson each had 13 points for the Fever (9-19), who lost their second straight game and drop to 3-10 on the road.

"Unfortunately our shots weren't going in the first half and they were hitting everything. So it was difficult for us to come back," Williams said.

Angie Braziel added six rebounds for Indiana, which shot 11-for-11 from the free-throw line.
