LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Lisa Leslie scored 16 of her 19 points in the
second half as the Los Angeles Sparks extended their winning streak
to 10 games with an 85-79 victory over the Seattle Storm on
Saturday night.
The Sparks (19-3), who opened the season with a WNBA-record nine
consecutive victories, extended their home winning streak to 15
games -- matching Cleveland for the league record. Cleveland won its
15th straight earlier Saturday, beating Charlotte 56-41.
Leslie hit two free throws with 1:18 left to give the Sparks a
77-75 lead. Seattle's Semeka Randall missed a layup on the Storms'
next possession and Ukari Figgs hit a 3-pointer as Los Angeles
moved out to an 80-75 lead with 41 seconds left.
Randall hit two free throws with 31 seconds left as the Storm
pulled with 80-77, but Leslie and Figgs each converted two free
throws in the final 26 seconds to seal the victory.
Figgs scored 16 points, and Mwadi Mabika and Tamecka Dixon each
added 13. Delisha Milton and Latasha Byears each finished with 12.
Jamie Redd scored a career-high 24 points, including 17 in the
first half, for Seattle, which lost its seventh straight and 10th
in 11 games. Randall added 15 points.
Seattle tied the game three times in the second half and took a
73-72 lead on a layup by Redd with 2:53 left.
Byears completed a three-point play 16 seconds later, but Redd
