SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Starzz played their finest 40
minutes of the season just hours after coach Fred Williams
resigned.

Natalie Williams had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Jennifer
Azzi added 15 points as new Utah coach Candi Harvey guided the
Starzz to a 73-69 victory over the Cleveland Rockers on Friday
night.
Fred Williams resigned two hours before the game, saying only
that it was "time for a change."
The Starzz responded by snapping a three-game losing streak and
winning their first home game since June 23.
"We played with passion and enthusiasm," said Harvey, an
assistant with the Starzz for two years. "We talked about staying
focused for 40 minutes and not thinking about anything but one
possession at a time."
Adrienne Goodson scored 14 points, and Margo Dydek had 11 points
and 10 rebounds for the Starzz, who shot 52 percent from the field
and outrebounded the Rockers by 12 in a game that included 16 lead
changes.
"Those are statistics that we have had some control over in
other games that we didn't tonight," Rockers coach Dan Hughes
said. "That presented us a lot of trauma."
