CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Edwina Brown hit a 3-pointer with 6.3 seconds left in the second overtime period to lead the Detroit Shock to a 72-69 victory over the Charlotte Sting on Saturday night.

Brown's game-winning jumper from the left corner was the last in a series of clutch shots. She hit a 3-pointer with 7.5 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and hit a 3-pointer with one second left in the first overtime period to force a second extra period.

Charlotte's Andrea Stinson missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer, and the Sting (1-6) lost their third straight game.

Brown finished with 19 points for Detroit (3-3), which won its third straight. Dominique Canty scored 20 points and Elena Tornikidou added 11.

Shalonda Enis scored 11 points and Keisha Anderson added 10 for the Sting, which committed 22 turnovers. Stinson, who had scored in double figures in 19 straight games, was held to eight points.

The Shock squandered a chance to win the game in regulation when Barbara Farris missed two free throws with 0.3 seconds left.

Detroit's leading rebounder, Wendy Palmer, left the game late in the first half with a strained left hamstring and did not return.
