NEW YORK -- Avon Products Inc. is calling on tennis champions
Venus and Serena Williams to appear in national TV spots and print
advertisements, starting next spring.
Under the exclusive three-year global agreement, the Williams
sisters will appear in the company's "Let's Talk" campaign,
launched earlier this year.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Williams sisters also will appear as spokeswomen for Avon
and its products, be featured on Avon-owned Web sites and make
personal appearances at Avon-sponsored events such as the company's
annual National Representative Convention, Avon said.
They will also help launch Avon Wellness, the company's new
global line of women's health and well-being products, including
vitamins and nutritional supplements.
Venus Williams is the reigning Wimbledon and U.S. Open champion,
and she won two gold medals in the Sydney Olympics.
Serena Williams won the U.S. Open in 1999, and teamed with Venus
to win a gold medal in doubles in Sydney. | |
