Cleveland F Marinaro, Milwaukee G Nogueira take MISL honors

WESTPORT, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Cleveland Crunch forward Hector Marinaro and Milwaukee Wave goalkeeper Victor Nogueira were named Major Indoor Soccer League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for the second straight time.

Marinaro scored a 3-point goal, four 2-point goals, a 1-point tally and six assists in three games last week. Marinaro, a six-time league MVP, had three assists against Philadelphia on Tuesday and three assists versus Baltimore three nights later.

The Toronto native exploded for 12 points in Cleveland's 22-14 victory over Milwaukee on February 9.

Nogueira wins the award for the fourth consecutive week and the seventh time this season after going 2-0 with a 5.50 points against average while stopping 25 of 30 shots.

The 42-year-old is 7-0 in his last seven starts, allowing just 52 points in a combined 420 minutes of action.
