Crew stay hot, tip Wizards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- John Wilmar Perez, Jeff Cunningham and Brian Maisonneuve scored as the Columbus Crew beat the Kansas City Wizards 3-1 Saturday night, extending their winning streak to four matches.

An unmarked Perez scored his seventh goal of the year in the 35th minute with a shot from the top of the box.

Cunningham scored his fifth goal of the year on a breakaway seconds before halftime for Columbus (9-5-5).

Forward Onandi Lowe rallied the Wizards (9-10-2) within one goal in the 81st minute. He scored on a free kick from 25 yards after Crew defender Tenywa Bonseu was ejected for elbowing Roy Lassiter in the face.

Maisonneuve scored on a point-blank shot in extra time.

Kansas City had a goal disallowed in the 51st minute after a late offsides call by the linesman.
