TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Eric Quill set up three first-half goals to lead the Tampa Bay Mutiny to a 3-2 victory over D.C. United on Saturday night.

The Mutiny (3-10-1), playing without suspended captain Carlos Valderrama, snapped a seven-match losing streak.

D.C. (5-8-1) had its two-game winning streak halted.

Free kicks from Quill led to goals by Steve Ralston in the eighth minute and Mamadou Diallo in the 23rd.

With three minutes left in the first half, Quill assisted on Devin Barclays' breakaway goal as the Mutiny took a 3-0 lead.

Jaime Moreno scored in the 52nd minute for United. Stephen Armstrong scored in the closing minutes as D.C. closed within 3-2.

Former United goalkeeper Scott Garlick made 10 saves and earned his first victory since April 21.

D.C. goalkeeper Mike Ammann stopped just one of four shots by Tampa Bay.
