PASADENA, Calif. (AP) _ Luis Hernandez scored with three minutes left and added another goal a minute later to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy over the New York/New Jersey MetroStars 2-0 Saturday.

Goalkeeper Matt Reis made two saves for his fifth shutout of the season as the Galaxy (7-4-4) became the first team in MLS to win 100 regular season-matches.

Cobi Jones sent up the first goal, dribbling past three defenders and ending a 20-yard run with a cross to Hernandez, who beat goalkeeper Tim Howard from eight yards.

Hernandez scored his second goal as Danny Califf sent a long pass over the defense to an unmarked Hernandez, who got his fourth goal in five games.

Hernandez entered in the 62nd minute. He did not start because he was coming off a pair of World Cup qualifiers for Mexico.

Los Angeles led 15-5 in shots and 8-2 in shots on goal. Howard made five saves.

New York/New Jersey (6-5-3) is winless in six games, going 0-4-2 in that stretch. The MetroStars have only one goal in three games since leading scorer Clint Mathis tore a knee ligament while training with the U.S. national team.
