COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Dante Washington had three goals and two assists as the Columbus Crew beat Tampa Bay 6-1 Saturday night, extending the Mutiny's losing streak to seven games.

Jeff Cunningham scored two goals and John Harkes also scored for the Crew (3-4-4), who set a team record for goals in a game. Cunningham also had two assists.

Tampa Bay's Carlos Valderrama was ejected in the 12th minute for spitting at Harkes after a hard tackle at midfield, forcing the Mutiny to play a man down for the majority of the game. Valderrama was given a red card May 26 for spitting on Miami midfielder Ian Bishop.

Washington opened the scoring in the 29th minute. He tipped the ball past Tampa Bay goalkeeper Scott Garlick and eluded Ritchie Kotschau's slide tackle for the easy tap-in. Washington scored again in the 73rd minute and got his third in the 85th minute.

Eric Quill ended Tampa Bays' 314-minute scoring drought with a goal in the 55th minute. Quill beat Crew defender Mike Clark and fired a low-shot past Tom Presthus as the Mutiny (2-10-1) closed within 2-1.

Columbus scored four goals in a span of 17 minutes late in the second half.

Jeff Cunningham scored off Washington's pass inside the goal box to make it 3-1 in the 68th minute. Washington's 16-yard header, off a cross from Cunningham, gave the Crew a 4-1 lead, and Cunningham scored in the 76th minute to make the score 5-1.
