Burn scores team-best six

DENVER (AP) -- Joselito Vaca scored one goal and had an assist and the Dallas Burn defeated the Colorado Rapids 6-3 on Saturday night.

Ryan Suarez, Paul Broome and Aleksey Korol added goals for the Burn, which posted a franchise-high six goals. Dallas benefitted from two goals Colorado players sent into their own net.

Raul Diaz Arce had two goals and Marcelo Balboa had one for the Rapids, (0-5-2) who are winless in their last seven games. Colorado last won on May 12.

The Rapids gave Dallas a 1-0 lead five minutes into the first half when Scott Vermillion kicked the ball into his own goal. Colorado then got goals from Barboa and Diaz Arce to take a 2-1 lead.

Suarez converted a pass from Vaca into a tying goal for the Burn at the 29th minute, and Vaca's goal gave Dallas a 3-2 advantage. Diaz Arce tied the game at 3-3 a minute later.

Dallas broke the tie at the 56th minute when Colorado's Lance Key sent a header past his own goalkeeper Adin Brown into his own goal.

Broome and Korol scored for Dallas in the final seven minutes.
