PASADENA, Calif. (AP) _ Dallas Burn goalkeeper Matt Jordan made six saves and Los Angeles Galaxy goalkeeper Matt Reis finished with three as the teams played to a scoreless tie Saturday night.

The Galaxy had the best scoring chance of overtime when Luis Hernandez took a pass from Cobi Jones in the 92nd minute, drove toward the goal and shot from 11 yards out. Jordan made the save to preserve the tie.

Los Angeles led 17-9 in shots and 6-3 in shots on goal before an announced crowd of 15,881 at the Rose Bowl.

"I thought defensively we were much better," coach Sigi Schmid said. "Their understanding is better. Their commitment to defending is better. We wanted (Danny) Califf to specifically take (Ariel) Graziani and that worked for us also."

Each goalkeeper made only two saves in the second half. Jordan blocked Hernandez's shot from 15 yards out in the 49th minute with his right hand and punched away Mauricio Cienfuegos' shot in the 70th.

Reis stopped long shots by Lubos Kubik in the 69th minute and Jorge Rodriguez in the 90th.

Dallas' first shot on goal came in the 45th minute when Ariel Graziani's drive was stopped by Reis.

"I thought we battled pretty hard," Dallas coach Mike Jeffries said. "We tried to put together some combinations and it didn't always come up. We were a little bit impatient at times and tried to get forward too quickly."

The shutout was Jordan's third of the season. He shares the league lead with Chicago's Zach Thornton and Miami's Nick Rimando.

Reis recorded his second shutout of the season.
