FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) – Matt Okoh scored 16 seconds into overtime and the New England Revolution beat the Chicago Fire 2-1 Saturday night, ending a six-match losing streak.

Okoh, a substitute in overtime, split two defenders at the top of the penalty box after New England forward Wolde Harris knocked a loose ball forward.

The Revolution, which had scored just four goals in an MLS-worst season-opening losing streak, took a 1-0 lead when Marco Cate-Leonard scored on a penalty kick in the 35th minute.

The Central Division-leading Fire, who had won two straight, tied the match in the 62nd minute when Peter Nowak followed a corner kick by Hristo Stoitchkov with a blast into the short right side.

New England, which was outshot 6-3 in the first half, had numerous scoring chances in the second half, but was unable to beat Chicago goalkeeper Zach Thornton.

New England goalkeeper Juergen Sommer denied Stoitchkov on a loose ball in the 39th minute, Dema Kovalenko in the 70th minute, and Eric Wynalda in the 89th minute.

Chicago was without coach Bob Bradley, who was given a red card in the Fire's last match against Tampa Bay.
