TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Ante Razov scored on a penalty kick to lead the Chicago Fire over the Tampa Bay Mutiny 1-0 Wednesday night, putting his team into a first-place tie with the Mutiny in the MLS Central Division.

Razov's penalty shot got past goalkeeper Scott Garlick in the 67th minute after Joe Addo was called for tripping Josh Wolff. The Mutiny protested the penalty and a replay showed that Wolff was tripped nearly a foot outside the penalty area.

Tampa Bay's (12-10-2) best scoring opportunity came in the 82nd minute when Manuel Bucuane broke free from defenders. His shot from 10 yards out got past goalkeeper Zach Thornton, but hit the left post.

Thornton made six saves, including three leaping stops high in the air and a diving stop on another.

Both teams have 38 points with eight games left in the season. The Fire (11-8-5) has a 2-0-1 record against the Mutiny this year.
