BOX SCORE
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Jason Kreis scored in the 82nd minute Sunday night to give Dallas a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Mutiny, giving the Burn second place in the MLS Western Conference. Dante Washington also scored for Dallas (19-13), which will have home-field advantage in its upcoming conference semifinal series against the Chicago Fire. Manny Lagos scored for the Mutiny (14-18), who finished third in the Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay will face the Columbus Crew in the opening playoff round. Kreis, the MLS scoring champion, tied D.C. United's Roy Lassiter for the league lead in goals with his 18th from 10 yards out. Washington gave the Burn a 1-0 lead from 15 yards in the 16th minute. Dallas appeared to get a break on the goal after replays showed Washington may have been offside on the play. Lagos got the equalizer in the 71st minute, scoring from 10 yards after pulling off some nifty footwork to get around goalkeeper Matt Jordan. The Burn were without starters Ariel Graziani (Ecuador) and Jorge Rodriguez (El Salvador) due to national team commitments. Tampa Bay's Raul Diaz Arce, who has 13 goals, also missed the game to play for El Salvador. Dallas' Sergi Daniv did not play because of a knee injury. | ALSO SEE Soccer Scoreboard AUDIO/VIDEO Jason Kreis ties the league-lead in goals. avi RealVideo: 56.6 | ISDN Manny Lagos shows off his moves en route to a goal. avi: 608 k RealVideo: 56.6 | ISDN |
