PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- A.J. Wood and Clint Peay scored to extend D.C. United's winning streak to a team-record 11 games with a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy Saturday.

Wood scored his eighth goal in the 17th minute and Peay in the 56th.

Wood took a pass from Jason Moore and, from 25 yards out, put a shot just inside the left goalpost, past goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.

Peay got his first goal of the season when his shot from 30 yards deflected off the right goalpost into the net. It was his second goal in 43 MLS matches over four seasons.

United goalkeepers Tom Presthus and Mark Simpson shared the shutout, with Presthus making three saves in the first half and Simpson two in the second.

Hartman made three saves before a Rose Bowl crowd announced at 29,161.

Los Angeles led 16-12 in shots, with both teams taking five shots on goal.

United, which has clinched the Eastern Conference championship, improved to 23-7. The Galaxy fell to 18-11, as its lead over Colorado (19-9) for the Western Conference lead fell to one point.
