THE ESPN MEN'S TOURNAMENT CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY AT&T & EMC RETURNS

Registration has begun for the sixth annual ESPN Men's Tournament Challenge Presented by AT&T & EMC, the largest Internet tournament of its kind, having generated more than 660,000 registrants last year. The site has also debuted the first-ever Wireless Tournament Challenge, available to fans any time via their PalmÔ VII series handheld computers or other wirelessly enabled Palm handheld. ESPN.com is part of the Walt Disney Internet Group (NYSE:DIG).

The free contests challenge entrants to pick the winners of each game throughout the upcoming NCAA Division I men's and women's basketball tournaments. To enter and track the contest using a Palm handheld, fans simply download the web clipping application for free at http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/01/wireless.html and follow the instructions.

Entries close on Thursday, March 15 (men's) and Friday, March 16 (women's), just prior to the tip-off of the first games.

Entrants are asked to fill out the tournament brackets, selecting the winners of each match-up from the first round through the NCAA Championship game. Points will be earned for each game picked correctly. Point values will increase with each round of play. Entrants may join personalized groups, enabling them to compete head-to-head against friends, family and co-workers throughout the tournament.

Entrants will be able to check their scores and relative standings regularly on ESPN.com or via their wirelessly enabled Palm handheld. In the event of a tie, entrants will be asked to answer one tiebreaker question.

The Men's Tournament Challenge Presented by AT&T and EMC and the Wireless Tournament Challenge have one overall grand prize winner, the entry that accumulates the highest score from among all eligible online and wireless entries. The winner will receive a check for $10,000 and a Palm VIIx handheld. Fifteen overall first place winners, also based on the highest scores, will receive Palm VIIx handhelds. In addition, the entry accumulating the highest score in the wireless tournament will receive a check for $1,000.

The Women's Tournament Challenge prize is a 43" wide-screen television.

ESPN.com tournament coverage includes chats and analysis from ESPN experts such as Dick Vitale, Digger Phelps and Jay Bilas, ESPN.com senior writer Andy Katz and more. The site will also offer capsule summaries and season records for all teams in the tournaments; tournament game flow charts; live chats; box scores and game recaps.
