ESPN Internet Group (EIG), part of Walt Disney Internet Group (NYSE:DIG), generated record traffic in August, registering more than twice the number of page views of CNNSI.com, the SportsLine.com family of sites, and Fox Sports Online combined, according to recently released Media Metrix figures. In terms of traffic to its Olympics section, ESPN.com experienced twice as many unique visitors than its nearest general sports site competitor, according to research firm PC Data.
