		Ten burning questions for Julie Foudy Page 2 staff

			In our never-ending quest for truth and enlightenment in the sports world, Page 2 asks the questions few others dare to ask. Our first good sport is U.S. women's national team veteran and San Diego Spirit midfielder Julie Foudy. Julie Foudy Sheryl Crow 1. Page 2: Has anyone ever told you you look like Sheryl Crow? Foudy: People always ask that exact question, although I've never been mistaken for her. I'd really like to meet her. I'm sure people tell her she looks just like Julie Foudy. 2. Who's more annoying, Tom Green or Adam Sandler? Tom Green Foudy: Tom Green. I don't really watch him that much -- I never got into his show. I'm a big Adam Sandler fan, though. He made all those really deep movies, like "Happy Gilmore." And I loved him back in SNL days. 3. What's the biggest difference between your new Women's United Soccer Association and the XFL? Foudy: Absolutely everything.We are the anti-XFL. We are everything they are not. Our target audience is different; we attract families, not the crowd the XFL gets. We want to be role models, not just as athletes, but as people. I wish we could steal some of their marketing tactics, though. They were brilliant, all hyped up. Of course, Brandi has said she'll get naked to attract that crowd ... 4. What's the stupidest sport? Julie Foudy's got Spirit, yes she does. Foudy: I don't know if there's any sport that's stupid, but I really don't understand curling. I guess I'm just not into brooms on ice. Everyone has their own passions, but I don't get it. Although when the national team is traveling abroad, we sometimes tell curious onlookers that we're a curling team. 5. What's the worst non-game related incident you've had on the road? Foudy: Once I was walking with teammate Joy Fawcett in a hotel in Haiti. We were barefoot, and the lights went out to save electricity. Joy felt something crunch beneath her feet, and she felt the need to shine her flashlight on the floor. It was, I swear, a five-foot cockroach. A cockroach on steroids. And I hate cockroaches. My other teammates Carla Overbeck and Kristine Lilly thought it was funny to put fake cockroaches in my bed. Such nice friends. 6. What's the weirdest fan mail you've gotten? Foudy: We've gotten a lot of stuff from prisons. It's all unprintable. 7. What do you want to be when you grow up? Michael Bolton Foudy: I would be doing anything to avoid a 9-5 job and high heels. Lifeguard, beach volleyball player, whatever. I once thought about being a doctor, but then I'd have to work for a living. Nope, I'd be doing nothing. 8. What CD are you embarrassed to admit you own? Foudy: I bought Michael Bolton once. What was I thinking? 9. Who would play Brandi Chastain in a movie about the team? Foudy: Brandi Chastain. I list her as my favorite actress in the media guide. Her nickname is Hollywood. She's so good at it. Uma Thurman Sandra Bullock 10. Who would play you? Foudy: How about Uma Thurman? Someone who really resembles my looks.
