San Jose State football coach Fitz Hill is breaking new ground.
When the contract came due for the manufacturer of the Spartans' football jerseys, the first-year coach made a daring choice by shunning such big companies as Russell, Nike, Reebok and Wilson and instead opting to sign a two-year deal with 4-PlayersOnly.com, a small urban-sportswear brand based in Grapevine, Texas.
The result is a much flashier jersey that Hill, one of five African-American head football coaches on the Division I-A level, says is a big hit with his players and a key advantage in recruiting.
While the Gen Y'ers might prefer the new jersey, we want to know if it works for you. Vote in the poll at left to let us know if you prefer the new flashy uniform or if you think the Spartans should go back to a more traditional look.
