Team handball
Team handball is a hybrid of basketball and soccer. There are six players on a team plus a goalie. Passing skills and precision are the key to winning.
Players function in different roles. Shooters, who are usually tall and good jumpers, middle backcourt players who direct the offense, smaller players who serve as wings, and large runners who not only shoot but also set screens and picks for other players.
Unlike basketball, players are allowed to take three steps without dribbling the ball. However, they are only allowed to hold onto to it for three seconds without passing, dribbling or shooting. Players frequently make acrobatic jumps, twists and turns.
It's played on a court that's 131 feet, 2 inches long and 65 feet, 7 inches wide. The area is 9 feet, 10 inches wide and 6 feet, 7 inches high. The goal area extends 19 feet, 8 inches from the goal. Only the goalie may enter the area.
Players may use any part of their bodies except their lower legs and feet to hit, catch or throw the ball. They may not touch the ball twice in a row, another player must touch it.
