BOX SCORE
DETROIT (AP) _ Detroit's Jason Williams scored off a goal-mouth scramble with 8:35 left in regulation as the Red Wings and Dallas Stars skated to a 2-2 tie Tuesday night. It was Williams' third goal of the preseason. Richard Jackman put the Stars up 2-1 on a power-play goal with 25 seconds left in the second period. The Red Wings opened the scoring when defenseman Steve Duchesne scored a power-play goal at 13:19 of the first period. His shot from the top of the left circle beat Ed Belfour on the short side. Dallas tied it five minutes into the second period when Grant Marshall's sweeping shot from the bottom of the left circle trickled through the pads of Red Wings goalie Manny Legace.
