Glad to see a player finally got recognized? Mad to see someone get snubbed? Users voiced their opinions on this year's Pro Bowl selections. The best responses are posted below.
Josh Hoopes Philadelphia, Pa.
Garcia over McNabb? No way! San Francisco is 5-11 with or without him. The Eagles are 11-5 because of McNabb, maybe 5-11 without him.
McNabb being overlooked this year is like not inviting Steven Spielberg to the Oscars.
I'm a Bucs fan, but there is no way Mike Alstott should have made the Pro Bowl. He's been injured for half the season and before his injury had a reduced role.
NO CURTIS MARTIN! NO DONOVAN MCNABB! Who voted for this team? I guess they all must live in a cave.
McNabb's Day will come. It's nice to make the Pro Bowl, but it's not important. What's important is that Donovan McNabb has established himself as one of the premier offensive players in the league. He's showing everyone in Philly why they drafted him.
I know coming from Chicago that this is going to sound biased, but Brian Urlacher not making the Pro Bowl is a freaking disgrace. They picked that dude from Philly over him and I think that is a crock of (crap). ... That is highway robbery.
Where is Brian Urlacher? Among NFC linebackers, he is among the leaders in tackles, is second with six sacks, and is second with two interceptions. The comical Bears defense has actually attained some respect with Brian's leadership this year.
The NFL dropped the ball again! Brian Urlacher was cheated out of a spot in the Pro Bowl. This kid played his tail off, yet lost in the voting. I squarely place the blame on the NFL for this. I know as well as you do that the NFL does not make the selections for the Pro Bowl -- the fans, coaches and players vote to establish that. However, the NFL must change its policy concerning names on the Pro Bowl ballot. If you are not listed as the opening day starter by your prospective team, your name will not appear on the ballot. Brian Urlacher played hard and won the starting job after the second game of the season, yet he was not put on the ballot.
Finally!!! Although he won't start the game on the field, Honolulu will finally be blessed by the presence of Robert Griffith,
the hardest hitting player in the league. It's about time.
I am extremely glad Champ Bailey made the Pro Bowl and not Deion Sanders. By the way, I am surprised no Redskins kickers made the team. What a shocker.
I realize he plays on one of the worst teams in the NFC, but Ronald McKinnon was second in the league in tackles with 139 and
also had three sacks. What does he have to do to gain some respect as far as the Pro Bowl is concerned?
Jevon Kearse over Rob Burnett? What has everyone been watching all year? Burnett is one of the reasons the Ravens are No. 1 in defense. What a travesty! This is worse than the major league baseball ballot!!!
I think it is an absolute crime that Anthony Simmons of Seattle was left off of the AFC squad for the Pro Bowl. The outside linebacker for the Seahawks has 130 tackles this year, to go along with four sacks and two interceptions. He was the second leading tackler in the league this year, and he doesn't get in? Mo Lewis has a measly 74 tackles and Jason Gildon only has 68 (even though he does have 10 sacks).
Emmitt Smith is the best running back in the league. How can you justify Charlie Garner who has less yards than Emmitt going ahead of a legend. I wonder if Carmen Policy had a hand in that as well.
I think just on pure principle the entire offensive line of the Denver Broncos should be on the Pro Bowl squad. For four straight years they have led three different 1,000-yard rushers, including this year in which a rookie-nobody, Mike Anderson, runs for over 1,300 yards.
I think that it is outrageous that Luther Elliss made the Pro Bowl over Keith Hamilton of the Giants.
No one other than perhaps Warren Sapp has been playing better against the run all year and the numbers
show it. Also, Hamilton has recorded eight sacks. Needless to say, he got jipped big time.
The Chiefs got ripped off, big time! You can't tell me that Elvis Grbac and Derrick Alexander aren't Pro Bowl players this year. And that John Tait hasn't been better than Tony Boselli, who got in purely on reputation (as did Alstott).
Although Dennis Green was looked at as an idiot after letting go Jeff Christy and Randall McDaniel, having Matt Birk selected as the second center after his first year at the position really proves that Denny knows what he is doing. The same goes for Daunte Culpepper, who many thought would never make it and now he's the starting quarterback for the NFC.
The worst choice for the Pro Bowl was Terrell Owens from the Niners. What were they thinking?
