DETROIT -- The Lions have contacted Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant coach Herman Edwards about
Detroit's head coaching job and are trying to schedule a meeting, Edwards'
agent Ray Anderson said Friday.
Gary Moeller signed a three-year contract as the Lions' head coach when
he replaced Bobby Ross midway though the 2000 season, but new general
manager Matt Millen might want to make a change. However, Millen said at the news
conference to announce his hiring that Moeller would remain as
coach.
Edwards is scheduled to meet with the New York Jets about their head coaching
job Sunday.
