Cincinnati shot 50 percent from the field (13-for-26), including 5-of-7 on 3-pointers in the first half.

The Bearcats extended their lead to 13 points at 52-39 with 12:36 remaining, before Xavier stormed back to cut it to 56-54 with 6:43 left. But Portia Flournoy hit a free throw and King followed with back-to-back 3-pointers to give UC 63-54 lead with 3:11 left.

The Bearcats took advantage of off nights and foul trouble by Xavier's two leading scorers, seniors Nicole Levandusky and Taru Tuukkanen.

Levandusky, who was leading Xavier with an 18.5 average, was 0-for-5 and scoreless until hitting a layup with 15:52 left. She finished with two points on 1-for-8 shooting. Tuukkanen was held to six points, four in the first half.
