BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Marie Ferdinand scored 22 points to lead Louisiana State (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) to a 75-47 victory over Mercer on Tuesday night for the 500th win in team history.

Kisha James added 10 points and five rebounds for LSU (5-3), which led 37-17 at halftime and went on to win its third straight.

The Tigers, who are 500-277 in 26 seasons, were 14-of-15 from the free-throw line, led by Ferdinand's 6-for-6 performance.

April Dyer led Mercer (1-8) with 11 points.

LSU's high-pressure defense kept Mercer in single-digits in scoring most of the first half. With less than eight minutes to play in the first, Mercer had scored just four points while committing four personal fouls.

LSU shot 50 percent from the floor for the game, while holding Mercer to just 17-of-43 from the floor.
