BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Marie Ferdinand scored 22 points to lead Louisiana State (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) to a 75-47 victory over Mercer on Tuesday night for the 500th win in team history. Kisha James added 10 points and five rebounds for LSU (5-3), which led 37-17 at halftime and went on to win its third straight. The Tigers, who are 500-277 in 26 seasons, were 14-of-15 from the free-throw line, led by Ferdinand's 6-for-6 performance. April Dyer led Mercer (1-8) with 11 points. LSU's high-pressure defense kept Mercer in single-digits in scoring most of the first half. With less than eight minutes to play in the first, Mercer had scored just four points while committing four personal fouls.
