ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands (AP) -- Jackie Stiles scored 42 points
to lead Southwest Missouri State (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 17 AP) to a 85-75 victory over No.
10 LSU at the Paradise Jam Classic on Friday.
Stiles, a second-team All-America selection last season, went
13-of-18 from the field -- making all three of her 3-point attempts
-- and 13-of-13 on free throws.
Carly Deer added 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting, and Morgan
Hohenberger and Tara Mitchem had seven points each for Southwest
Missouri State (2-0).
Marie Ferdinand led LSU (2-2) with 23 points. April Brown scored
15, Kisha James 14, and Roneeka Hodges 12.
In the next round of the tournament, Southwest Missouri will
face No. 13 Texas Tech, which beat No. 9 Penn State 79-71 on Friday.
