VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Lisa Shepherd scored 23 points and 10th-ranked Penn State came up with its second straight impressive offensive showing in an 81-70 victory over Villanova.

Maren Walseth added 15 points and Katrena Carr added 14 for Penn State (2-0), which was coming off a season-opening 99-72 victory over No. 12 Old Dominion.

The Lady Lions shot 42 percent (25-of-59) but did their best work on the glass, where they held a commanding 46-24 rebounding advantage. Rashana Barnes led the dominating effort with 18 rebounds.

Trish Juhline scored 15 points, Brandi Barnes 14 and Katie Davis and Mimi Riley 13 apiece for Villanova (0-1), which shot 42 percent (23-of-55).
