Pride's 19 points thwart Wildcats

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Lynn Pride had 19 points and her layup with 27.6 seconds remaining finished off a rally by Kansas (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 AP) for a 71-68 victory over No. 14 Arizona Tuesday night.

Kansas (7-2) overcame a 36-26 deficit at the half behind Pride.

The Jayhawks outscored Arizona (9-1) 21-9 in the first eight minutes of the second half.

The Jayhawks' first lead of the game came at 6:51 when Pride drove the lane for a 58-56 lead.

Arizona went on a 12-0 run keyed by Lisa Griffith's two 3-pointers to give the Wildcats a 19-6 advantage.

Griffith hit 4-of-5 3-pointers and scored 13 points in the first half, but failed to score in the second half.

Suzi Raymant had 15 points and Brook Reves added 14 for the Jayhawks.

Angela Lackey led Arizona with 16 points. Reshea Bristol and Brown scored 15 each for the Wildcats.
