Arizona routs Northern Illinois

TUCSON, Arizona -- Arizona (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, No. 17 AP) kept its perfect record intact, forcing 36 turnovers and destroying Northern Illinois, 78-46.

Arizona has won by double-digit margins in each of its first nine games, beating teams by an average of nearly 20 points a game.

The Wildcats did it with their defense, also coming up with 17 steals. They led 37-19 at halftime and cruised thereafter.

Tatum Brown scored 17 points and Elizabeth Pickney and Reshea Bristol added 14 apiece for Arizona, which shot just 47 percent (28-of-59) from the floor and 53 percent (17-of-32) from the free-throw line.

Kristan Knaje scored 12 points but combined with Charbea Haller on 19 turnovers for Northern Illinois, which shot just 38 percent (19-of-50).
