MALIBU, California (Ticker) -- Maylana Martin scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Michelle Greco and Nicole Kaczmarski added 20 points apiece as No. 8 UCLA posted an 86-67 triumph over intrastate rival Pepperdine.

Marie Philman scored 13 points and added eight rebounds for UCLA (4-2), which broke open a tight game with an early second-half run. The Bruins made 30-of-68 shots, including 8-of-17 from 3-point range.

Rasheeda Clark led Pepperdine (2-4) with 19 points and Dee Braxton added 13. The Waves made just 23-of-73 shots but outrebounded UCLA, 45-44.

The Bruins scored the opening seven points of the contest and led 22-9 just over seven minutes in. Their lead was 27-13 with 9:16 to go in the first half when Pepperdine went on a 19-5 spurt to knot the contest.

Greco had 13 points in the first half for UCLA while Clark led the Waves with 10.

The game was tied 39-39 early in the second half when Martin took over the game. Greco had a driving layup and Martin buried consecutive jumpers to ignite a 22-6 run. Martin had 14 points in the pivotal burst and capped the run with a free throw with 11:58 to go.
