LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- Brooke Reves and Suzi Raymant scored 22 points apiece as No. 15 Kansas rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 97-53 rout of outmanned Mississippi Valley State.

Reves (11-of-12) and Raymant (10-16) were a combined 21-of-28 from the field for Kansas (6-1), which was coming off a 55-54 setback at Creighton.

The Jayhawks were never threatened against Mississippi Valley State (2-6), maintaining a 54-10 edge in points in the paint and a 22-2 advantage in fastbreak points.

"It was great getting back on the winning side of things," Kansas coach Marian Washington said. "I was particularly happy in the second half when we picked it up a little. That was good to see."

Kansas erupted for 53 points in the second 20 minutes after opening a 44-20 halftime lead.

Lynn Pride added 19 for Kansas, which shot a sizzling 64.5 percent (44-of-69) from the field and eclipsed 80 points for the first time this season. The Jayhawks also converted 27 turnovers into 27 points.

The Delta Devils shot a respectable 45 percent (21-of-47) but had no chance inside, getting outrebounded, 36-17.

Latasha Thomas has 16 points and Tracey Campbell added 12 for Missouri Valley State, which has dropped four of its last five.
