MORAGA, Calif. (AP) -- Marie Ferdinand scored a career-high 21 points to lead No. 22 Louisiana State to a 68-65 overtime victory over St. Mary's in the Walnut Creek Thanksgiving Classic championship game on Saturday night. Ferdinand made two crucial plays to keep the Tigers alive. The first was a field goal with 1:48 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 57-57. In overtime, she grabbed a loose offensive rebound and called timeout while jumping out of bounds with 2:34 remaining. The play set up a two-point basket by DeTrina White. Then Ferdinand stole the ball on the opposite end of the court to set up another LSU score and a 67-62 lead with 56 seconds remaining. A 3-pointer by Tracy Morris with 19 seconds left cut the lead to 67-65 but Katrina Hibbert made one free throw with 11 seconds left for the final margin.
