ORONO, Maine (Ticker) -- Cal Bouchard scored 20 points and Alissa Murphy added 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as No. 21 Boston College posted an 83-56 victory over Maine in the opening round of the womens National Invitation Tournament.

Murphy made all 12 of her free throw attempts as Boston College (1-0) was a sterling 24-of-27 from the free throw line. Beck Gottstein added 18 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles, who committed just 11 turnovers and held a 41-31 edge on the boards.

Boston College led just 12-10 seven minutes into the contest but scored the next dozen points to pull away. Maine (0-1) shot 31 percent over the opening 20 minutes and trailed 40-29 at the end of the first half.

Jamie Cassidy scored 15 points and Lacey Stone added 14 off the bench for the Black Bears.
