BOX SCORE
RUSTON, La. (AP) -- Sophomore center Takeisha Lewis had a career night for No. 4 Louisiana Tech. So, too, did the Lady Techsters' defense. Lewis had 21 points and 16 rebounds -- both career highs -- and Tech forced 41 turnovers in a 98-36 Sun Belt Conference victory over Arkansas-Little Rock on Thursday night. Tech's bench also contributed 41 points, and its defense had 15 steals and five blocked shots, three by Lewis. "I really liked Takeisha's energy and enthusiasm, and the way she worked so hard -- her points and rebounds," coach Leon Barmore said. "That's the kind of play we want out of our post people." It was the Lady Techsters' 11th straight victory, their 23rd in a row at home and 37th straight against a Sun Belt opponent. Arkansas-Little Rock is 4-17 overall and 1-10 in the Sun Belt. Tech (21-2 overall, 12-0 Sun Belt) parlayed tough defense -- Arkansas-Little Rock just 4-of-18 shots -- and 60 percent field goal accuracy (24-of-40) into a 57-13 halftime lead. Tech went to its bench even before intermission and coasted. "Tech is so deep in talent and experience, so it wasn't surprising that they dominated us in all areas. And they don't lose a thing when they go to their bench," Arkansas-Little Rock coach Tracy Stewart-Lange said. "We couldn't stop Lewis. And their defense created so many problems for us, especially in getting the ball up the court where their quickness on defense kept bothering us." Substitute Catrina Frierson added 17 points for Tech, Tamicha Jackson contributed 11 and Betty Lennox and reserve Brooke Lassiter had 10 points each. Scealita Drennon led Arkansas-Little Rock with 10 points.
