Georgia rolls to 10th straight win

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Coco Miller emerged from a shooting slump to score 17 points as Georgia (No. 2 ESPN/USA Today, No. 3 AP) downed South Carolina 84-61 Thursday night, the Lady Bulldogs' 10th straight victory.

The Lady Dogs (24-2, 9-1 Southeastern Conference) struggled to stop the Gamecocks' Jocelyn Penn, who came off the bench to score 17 points. Midway through the first half, Georgia went to a zone, and steadily pulled away from South Carolina (12-11, 2-7).

Center Tawana McDonald scored 15 points and blocked a career-high six shots. Deana Nolan scored 14 for Georgia and Kelly Miller added 11.

Shannon Segres scored 14 for South Carolina, which shot 37 percent overall and made just 1-of-14 3-pointers. The Lady Gamecocks also had 26 turnovers.

Coco Miller, who had made just 38 percent of 142 shots over the last 10 games, was 6-of-12, only the third time in the last 10 games when she has made as many as half her shots.

Nine minutes into game, Georgia led only 25-22 after Penn's layup. Coco Miller scored seven points over the next four minutes in an 11-3 run as Georgia built a 38-25 lead with 7:14 to go. The Lady Bulldogs led 48-37 at halftime.

In the second half, Kelly Miller's three-point play and Coco Miller's four straight free throws gave Georgia a 65-45 lead with 14:21 to play.
