BOX SCORE
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Andrea Garner scored 15 points and Helen Darling added 14 to lead No. 6 Penn State to a 57-52 victory over Wisconsin on Sunday. Penn State (19-3, 10-1 Big Ten) built a 31-15 halftime lead with the help of 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. "We're very fortunate and very happy to come out of here with a win," Penn State coach Rene Portland said. "The second half was all Wisconsin." The Badgers (11-9, 5-6) battled back despite poor long-range shooting. They made only 1 of 11 tries from beyond the 3-point line, including missing all six 3-point attempts in the second half. "We competed with one of the upper echelon teams in the country, and in the second half we played them pretty evenly," Badgers coach Jane Albright said. "We gave it all we had." Penn State also got 11 points and nine rebounds from Maren Walseth and 10 points from Lisa Shepherd. Wisconsin was led by LaTonya Sims with 15 points and Jessie Stomski with 14. | ALSO SEE Womens College Basketball Scoreboard
